Historical recreation Course

In this course, each student was assigned a historical period and chose a corset from that period to recreate. I was assigned the first bustle era 1870-1876 , and reconstructed an English wedding corset from 1870. The corset was constructed using traditional methods, including boning, hand-stitching Handcrafts and periodical decorations. This recreation allowed me to gain new sewing skills and techniques various and deeper understanding of the challenges faced by corset makers of the time.
